To keep up my interest, I suggest a mini contest to my colleagues at work who are also into photography.  We schedule and pick a place where we can have a shoot out and submit 2-3 photos from that set and let our other team mates decide the winner. So far, we were able to shoot at two different locations this February.  The Harbour and the American Filipino Memorial near our office.

Its January and its been 3 mos since I got my DSLR.  I need to get out and join up with some people who share the same interest.  I need to maximize my 18-55 kit lens so I need to avoid shooting indoors...don't like it anyway.. I know I love shooting landscapes and the drama of everyday life.  It so happen that the car club I am into has this minor group who shares the same passion.  So they set up an event and we all went shooting to a beach.  Even the weather is cloudy, I got to shoot some interesting subjects. After the trip to Boracay, the only time I got to use my camera between October to December are all indoor events.  And I was so frustrated since I always get blurred pictures due to the lack of light.  I realized F3.5 won't cut it and been wanting to get a F2.8 lens across all focal length.  I know I can use the on-board flash to compensate for the lack of lighting but I love ambient light more and not the light produced by the flash.  I have been practicing and researching to make it look like more natural. Anyway, I have also been busy and it relieved me from my frustration. :D But still, been dreaming and drooling for a F2.8 lens... dar
